The leader of the Democrats, Lulzim Basha, was summoned today by the prosecution to testify about the January 8 protest, which the Democrats held in front of the blue headquarters and which was accompanied by tensions and physical clashes.
Basha, who has not confirmed to the media if he will be present, has been summoned to appear at the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office at 11:00, while after him will come the General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, in at 12:00.
The day before, for 2 hours and 40 minutes, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha stood in front of prosecutors and was told his version of the protest where Berisha’s supporters clashed with Basha’s supporters, while the Democratic Party building suffered heavy material damage, as protesters broke down doors, windows and other items Inside it.
Yesterday, Berisha again accused Lulzim Basha that for the day of the protest, he had chosen mercenaries to bunker the PD.
“To accept to be surrounded by murderers, traffickers and gangs at a time that is protected by the guard, but even if it is not protected, you from the killer if you stay in politics you can never do it,” said Berisha.
Both in front of the prosecutors and in front of the media, the leader of the Socialists, Edi Rama, who Berisha sees more and more as Basha’s lawyer, did not escape without being shot.
“I call on the law enforcement agencies of the partner countries to investigate the minimum for money laundering because Rama closed the money laundering file in Albania”, said Berisha further.
Berisha insists there was no violence at Saturday’s rally and it was a peaceful protest.
Yesterday, Flamur Noka, Berisha’s right-hand man, was also questioned, while two days ago all those arrested during the protest were released. Only for some of them, an obligation to appear was required.
