Fifteen members of the DP Re-establishment Commission on Thursday decided to set up a commission to deal with the organization of the December 18 referendum to formalize the dismissal of Lulzim Basha.
This commission consists of five members and has the responsibility to organize, supervise and direct the referendum process dated 18.12.2021 until the issuance and announcement of its final result.
Such a move leaves Basha’s fate in the hands of membership and not of a minority. Since Basha was elected with one member one vote last summer, he will be fired on the same principle.
Once Basha’s dismissal becomes a fact, according to Berisha’s supporters, the Democratic Party will be temporarily headed by a Re-establishment Commission which will chair it until March 22.
The former leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, on Saturday, December 11, held the National Assembly with about 5 thousand delegates and thousands of supporters to dismiss the current leader, Lulzim Basha.
The “Provisional Commission for the Re-establishment of the Democratic Party” approved several statutory changes and the dismissal of Basha.
For the latter, the last word is the referendum of December 18 from the membership of the Democratic Party.
On the other hand, Basha has called every decision issued by this Assembly null and December 18, according to him, will be the only legitimized National Assembly.
