Response to the statement of the State Department spokesman to my criticism of the US Ambassador to Tirana, Mrs. Yuri Kim.
Expressing my high regard for the State Department and spokesperson Ned Price I want to emphasize the following:
First of all, in my opinion, criticism is not an attack, I have criticized the attitudes and statements of the US ambassador, which have not been in line with my assessment of the country’s laws and the Vienna Convention. I think that interpreting criticism as an attack is not right as it is a pure form of diplomatic bullying.
Second, the Albanian people love the great American friendly people and their government. They have done more than anyone else for the freedom and sovereignty of Albania and Kosovo.
Third, the Albanians, as a free sovereign nation, a member of NATO, want to elect their representatives in accordance with the laws of the country and their vote, whether in the Parliament or the leadership of the parties. They do not expect from anyone, much less from representatives of the country that has done more for their sovereignty, to dictate to you which MP elected by them should enter and who can not enter parliament or even engage in the game. with puppets in intra-party campaigns to support an already abandoned candidate for his membership affair.
Fourth, Albanians have suffered more than any other nation from the Stalinist dictatorship of dictator Enver Hoxha, who, among other things, threatened them with the expression that we will eat grass but the US will not submit to you. So I think that the use of this expression of dictator Hoxha by the US representative as a threat to the members of the Democratic Party who 30 years ago overthrew the Hoxha dictatorship is an inadmissible collective insult and it deserves a public feeling.
For free people arrogance is not a virtue.
Fifth, Albanians are convinced that US power lies above all in the freedoms guaranteed by the constitution and laws to the citizens of this great country and are inspired by this example. They expect the US representative to encourage freedom of expression, opinion and media and not to ask journalists to censor the political activity of MPs or local politicians.
Sixth, the US has given Albania an invaluable assistance in the fight against corruption and in the 30-year history of democracy no one has fought according to indisputable documents as much as Sali Berisha corruption and organized crime in Albania.
Eight years after his departure from power, Albania is today called the first and only narco-state in Europe. According to DASH reports, it is now considered as the operational center of criminal organizations in the region, Europe, North America and South America and the Middle East. And according to World Bank reports, my country was ranked second in the world in 2020 in terms of bribery.
But despite all this, in a unique case in history Secretary Blinken misinformed by the corrupt lobbying of Edi Rames and the protector of the latter multifaceted George Soros
has declared on May 19, 2021 Sali Berisha person non grata for significant corruption.
This is a unique case in the history of the world that a person is declared nongrata 8 years after resigning from any leading position and never having a charge of corruption filed by any local or foreign institution, against him or his family and three weeks after his party lost the election.
Regarding this issue, considering this decision completely unfounded and genuine as a political revenge of my enemies and Albanian democracy, Edi Rama and George Soros, I have filed a lawsuit against Secretary Blnken in the Paris Court.
Therefore, for the sake of transparency, I invite you to file in court where I have filed a defamation lawsuit, any fact, evidence or document that you or any individual or institution on earth has to prove your accusation and decision absolutely without grounds.
Finally, I assure you, Mr. Price, that Albanians in general and Democrats in particular look forward to the 100th anniversary of the relations between the two nations and our two countries with pride and deep gratitude. They remain determined to contribute in the next 100 years. sb
