The leader of the Democrats, Lulzim Basha, during the meeting with the Democrats of Fier this Sunday, called on everyone to leave behind the past, meaning Sali Berisha, and to choose the future.
He also announced that he would hold meetings with Democrats from the north to the south of the country, stressing that they have big tasks to accomplish.
“The first meeting after the traumatic event of January 8. From Fier is the message of the democrats today, we choose the future for our future, for our democratic family, for our country, for our families, for Fier, Albania, Albanians everywhere. Let’s choose the future. 90% of Albanian families spend money on basic necessities and cannot afford to buy their children a pair of sneakers. none of us has the right to abuse this belief, no democrat owes us, my ancestor should have called to mind, head doing the best service to the most corrupt regime which is the government of Edi Rama, but on January 8 a red line was crossed that separates us and should separate us once and for all. Democrats can neither be blackmailed nor coerced into violence. Our response to government violence is the red line drawn on January 8 by Sali Berisha and a handful of people unrelated to the Democrats. I want to invite all the Democrats that I will go to meet from the south to the north, let’s leave the past after we have chosen the future and we have big tasks “, said Basha.
He advised Democrats not to surrender to the ‘Bermuda Triangle’, which means the secret alliance between President Ilir Meta, former DP leader Sali Berisha and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“We tell this majority not to lose faith in Albania, do not give in before the triangle, the knights of transition who have taken everything and do not want to give anything, who want to be in power, that they are absolute minorities no matter how noisy be. Power robbed by sovereigns. Most Albanians deserve change, they love it and it is our mission to pursue change. Today we are clearer that change stopped. We are clearer that our friends and allies were not so zealous when the election massacre stopped change“, Said Basha.
A part of the democrats of Fier did not welcome Basha in their city. They have chosen to protest with placards and block the road. It took the intervention of the police to open the road.
They have been heard to say “O Berisha, o hero, the whole of Fieri loves you”, “ Basha ik ”, ”Long live Sali Berisha ”, while they did not spare insults to the police, who created a cordon to prevent traffic jams.
Berisha in Shkodra and Basha in Fier have gathered forces to keep their supporters close, while the internal political situation of the Democratic Party is getting even worse. This is their first meeting with the Democrats, after the violent protest on January 8 at the blue headquarters.
The protest called by Seli Berisha at the PD headquarters at noon on January 8 marked the culmination of the internal disputes of the Democratic Party.
The mission of the protesters was clear, to enter at all costs into the blue headquarters. They could only enter the first floor and tried unsuccessfully to dismantle the armored doors leading to the second floor by any means.
Those who wanted to make the entrance through the windows, where they were confronted with tear gas thrown from inside the PD headquarters.
After more than two hours of protest, the police intervention at the request of the DP caused the protesters to disperse, while Berisha was inside the headquarters.
Following the arrests, the Tirana Court on Wednesday decided to release from prison 34 detainees of the violent January 8 protest at the Democratic Party headquarters.
Among others, the DP leadership permanently expelled from the Democratic Party Sali Berisha and his supporters, Bujar Nishani, Flamur Noka, Albana Vokshi, Edmond Spahon, Arben Ristani, Rigels Muçollari, Klevis Balliu and Keltis Kruja.
