The chairman of the State Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, in a conversation with journalists, spoke about the local by-elections, and said that all those parties that meet the conditions according to the law can be registered.
Celibashi was also asked about the clash within the DP, which DP chairman he officially recognizes and whether the CEC has received a letter from the Re-establishment Group regarding the dismissal of Basha.
Celibashi responded briefly by choosing not to return an answer the moment the requests from the political parties are submitted.
“Until the moment we speak, we have no communication with political parties. “Naturally I can say something, but I have to have the correct institutional behavior, I am not afraid to say my opinions, but at the moment when the requests from the political parties will be presented, there will be an answer”, said Celibashi.
Celibashi also spoke about the two mayors of Vora and Shkodra, who were fired as a result of decriminalization.
“First of all, I want to say in my capacity that the past experience is a lesson for everyone and for political parties, and on the other hand it means that we will not have such a commitment from the CEC to make in-depth verifications. “I think that the time is relatively enough to make those necessary verifications for data on potential candidates for mayor of 6 municipalities”, said Celibashi.
