Following the meeting of the National Council of the Democratic Party, the head of the blue headquarters has conducted a series of informal activities, in order to prepare the structures for the continuation of the political action approved on December 18 by the National Assembly.
Sources from the blue headquarters suggest that in recent days, Lulzim Basha has met with the chairmen of the DP branches, followed by meetings with the Parliamentary Group and the leadership of the Democratic Party. This Wednesday, the leader of the Democrats left for Dibra.
Basha made the call to go out on the field and work with the membership a week later at the National Council meeting.
“To work with all those men who were with us, but also with those who today do not trust us, but were used to meat for the ball“, Said Basha.
These political movements of Basha come after the holding of the National Assembly on December 18.
The December 11 assembly (convened by Berisha) – and a rival assembly a week later (convened by Basha) – marked the culmination of an ugly three-month war over the leadership of the opposition Democratic Party.
On one side stands former Democratic leader Sali Berisha, part of Albanian politics since the fall of communism three decades ago, and on the other is Lulzim Basha, the man Berisha promoted across the party and who eventually handed over the reins to the year 2013.
The Assembly dismissed the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, by secret ballot on the proposal of 7 deputies and 15 percent of the delegates. He was fired for serious violations of the statute and damaging its political and electoral interests. But not only. The National Assembly of December 11, convened by one party has dismissed the entire ruling dome of the party.
