Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer has tested positive for coronavirus, despite having administered all three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Currently, he is isolated at home.
“The infection was transmitted through a member of my security team,” Nehammer wrote on Twitter, adding that he was feeling well. “There is no reason to worry.”
The 49-year-old chancellor had been vaccinated with all three doses and so far has shown no symptoms. He is running the affairs of the country by telephone and videoconferencing and will not participate in public engagements in the coming days.
Nehammer’s wife and children have been found to be negative.
