The Australian government has said it has imposed travel and travel bans on the two daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the daughter of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

With the new measures, the number of Russian persons and entities from Australia has reached almost 750. The new round of sanctions also targeted 144 Russian lawmakers who offered to support Putin by approving the “illegal” recognition of the two Ukrainian regions, Donetsk and Luhansk, as independent entities on February 22, the Australian Foreign Ministry said. .
Foreign Minister Marisa Payne added that Australia would continue to impose costs on Russia because of “unprovoked and unjustified aggression in Ukraine.”
Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine on February 24 and many Western countries have imposed harsh sanctions on the Russian economy and entities.
