Australia has announced it will reopen its borders to vaccinated tourists and other visa holders, for the first time in nearly two years.
“If you are fully vaccinated, we can hardly wait for you again,” said Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
The reopening, which will take place on February 21st, will be welcomed by many sectors, including international education.
Australia has implemented some of the strictest border measures during the coronavirus pandemic.
In March 2020, the Government closed the borders.
Most foreigners have been barred from entering to fight the pandemic.

“This is the rule. “Everyone has to implement it,” he added.
Unvaccinated travelers, who have health reasons why they have not been immunized, should provide an exception to the vaccination rule, and if they succeed, should be subject to the quarantine measure.
According to Johns Hopkins University data, Australian authorities have registered more than 2.7 million cases of coronavirus and 4,248 victims.
About 80 percent of the population is fully vaccinated.
