The 23rd day of the war in Ukraine has started with attacks and bombings by Russian forces in several cities of the country. The number of civilians killed is growing, while Ukraine says Russia has already targeted civilians.
In Lviv, western Ukraine, an aircraft repair plant was destroyed this morning. Russia fired rockets at the country, which is close to the Polish border and has been used as a safe haven for thousands of refugees.
Attacks have also been reported in the eastern city of Kharkiv, where a university and two apartment blocks were hit by rockets, killing one person and injuring 11 others.
In the southern city of Kramatorsk, two people were killed and six wounded in another rocket attack. And in the capital Kiev, a person was killed after a crashed rocket exploded in a residential neighborhood.
Mariupol is more and more under Russian control. Thousands of civilians are believed to be trapped in the city.
Survivors of the theater in Mariupol are being rescued. Civilians who had sheltered the theater that was bombed two days ago have emerged from the rubble. So far 130 people have been rescued, according to officials in Ukraine, but still hundreds of citizens remain under the rubble.
