In the early hours of the morning of February 24, Albania and the US, the two countries co-sponsoring the Ukraine issue in the UN Security Council, formulated a resolution condemning the Russian attack on Ukraine and calling it an “aggression against “UN Charter and World Peace.”
The document, signed by Albania’s Ambassador to the UN, Ferit Hoxha, and his American counterpart, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, has as its primary purpose the condemnation of the attack and its further detention by Russia to the detriment of Kiev.
It also includes a point for humanitarian aid to Kiev, as a result of a refugee crisis, which Russia has created with aggression.
This issue, even based on the resolution, carries international weight and importance, as it threatens world peace and security.
““As members of the United Nations, we must choose.” “Either we stand by the UN Charter, defending Ukraine’s sovereignty, its territorial integrity and independence, or we let Russia take us back in time to the era of imperialism, colonization and empires.”.

The document states that by being united, this suffering can be ended, not only for the people of Ukraine, but for the whole world that chooses peace and diplomacy over war and aggression.
“In principle, this document, if signed by other countries, is a vote in favor of the free world“, The resolution concludes.
This latest move by the accomplices of the Ukrainian issue in the Security Council comes at a time when Kiev is waking up to Russian bombardment.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a “military operation” in Ukraine at 5:55 a.m. on February 24, 2022. A few minutes later the first shelling followed.
On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to recognize the separatist regions of Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk, as independent states and ordered the deployment of Russian forces in those territories.
The West has strongly condemned this action, calling it an overture to complete conquest.
