One of the advisers to the Ukrainian presidency, Oleksiy Arestovych, says Russia’s defeat is imminent, adding that by the end of April the war will be over.
“The active phase is almost over near Kiev, Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv. Even if the Russians add some reserves somewhere or try to go on the offensive, it will still end in their defeat. The end is here, they lost, strategically and quickly. I think that in mid or late April, Kiev residents who have left will be able to return home“, Writes Arestovych.
Meanwhile, after days of negotiations, the parties have not yet managed to achieve results. On Friday one of the Russian negotiators said they were close to reaching an agreement on Ukraine’s neutral status, but Kiev negotiator Mikhaoly Podoloyak reacted immediately by saying Ukraine was not withdrawing from any of its demands, which include the full withdrawal of Russian troops. Podologak added that Moscow’s statements seek to provoke tensions.
Ukraine has already entered the 4th week of Russian occupation, and since February 24 more than 3.2 million people have left Ukraine and another 12 million are trapped in heavily bombed areas.
