The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha on Tuesday said that the arrest of the former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka proves that the accusations made by this party were right.
“The arrest of Rama’s minister proves that our accusations were right, our denunciations were grounded. Having said that, no Albanian citizen can believe that this is a big fish. Everyone knows that 17 government decisions in one day could not be issued by a minister, whoever“, Said Basha.
Full statement:
Today’s arrest of the former minister of Edi Rama, Lefter Koka, is another proof that proves the justice of the denunciations of the Democratic Party. Today is the day to remember that it is the day to remember that it was the Democratic Party which in February 2018, started the process of denunciations and parliamentary interpellations, despite all the fuss, buying public silence including influencing through incinerators almost money all Albanian media.
For 400 million euros that have been extorted from Albanian taxpayers. Well today, the arrest of Rama’s minister proves that our accusations were right. That our denunciations have been grounded. Having said that, no Albanian citizen believes that this is a big fish. Everyone knows that 17 government decisions in a day, could not be issued by a minister whoever he is. The real names behind this affair, after this abuse of 400 million euros of Albanians, are those of Edi Rama, Damian Gjiknur, Erion Veliaj, Klodian Mërtiri, Arben Ahmetaj and other surrogates, two other mayors of others. Therefore, as long as there is no full action, there is no full justice for this terrible corrupt affair which has impoverished the pockets of Albanians even more.
We can not say that today is a day of triumph, for justice. It is probably the beginning of a process, but that can not end without answering the questions of what to do with the heads of this affair, with the head of government who passed 17 government decisions within a day. Whose money was being laundered by Rama’s minister who was arrested today?
This proves once again the importance of the investigative commission for incinerators, proves once again the resistance, the reasons for the resistance that was set up by this commission and restores the citizens’ attention to the fact that we, the Democratic Party, are fighting this battle for the interests of Albanians. of Albanians, on the side of Albanians, but it is being clearly shown that by refusing to respond in a timely manner with the required documentation and with the required witnesses, the culprits have revealed themselves to the public.
This is the moment to tell every Albanian that the Commission of Inquiry for Incinerators and the battle started in February 2018, even in 2017 to denounce this mafia scheme, this battle will continue and that despite the full will or not of justice which I urge today to act without hesitation to bring to justice everyone starting from the heads and not content with just 1, 2 or 3 participants in this giant corruption scheme. Despite all this Democratic Party, our deputies in the commission of inquiry for incinerators will continue our battle for transparency precisely in order to uncover this giant criminal scheme that on the one hand has aggravated the citizens because you all know that citizens and businesses, cleaning fees have been increased and you have been added. You know very well that this has not brought even better air quality, no greater hygiene in our cities.
On the contrary, it has brought more pollution because the whole incinerator scheme is a mafia scheme built to steal Albanians and damage their health. I can not but say that this first step taken today is unquestionably welcome, but on the other hand I want to say quite clearly on behalf of the Democratic Party that without going to the big fish of this affair, everything will remain a farce and instead of building it risks undermining the faith of justice. Therefore, I urge justice on this day when he has taken this step not to stop with that, not to enter it for the Greek calendar as they call the investigation process, but to immediately go to the perpetrators who made it possible as I said the signing of 17 one-day government acts.
Today is the day when Lefter Koka was arrested, that Edi Rama, Ëngjëll Agaçi, Damian Gjiknuri, Srben Ahmetaj, together with Klodian Mërtiri, Erion Veliaj and the mayors of two other municipalities be summoned and taken urgently according to law, to be prosecuted according to law , because without them Lefter Koka, certainly would not have been able to commit this monstrous act and this serious crime on the pockets of Albanians.
