The local elections of March 6 have brought verbal confrontation between Edi Rama and Ilir Meta. Analyst Arion Sulo spoke to “Top Talk” about the latest developments in politics, showing the reason why Sali Berisha needs Edi Rama.
According to him, Rama is trying to avoid the Bermuda triangle, leaving only Meta and Berisha in the alliance.
Denis Dyrnjaja: Trying to defactorize Berisha, are they factoring him more strongly with these moves? For example, by removing the legal representatives in the CEC, they are making Berisha’s grouping with Meta even stronger.
Arion Sulo: I think that if we had this situation, this panorama, this political fact would have been proven, it would have appeared on January 8, in December during the Assembly, the majority would have appeared. Basha has made a move of 2-3 months distancing himself from Bermuda. And Rama did it today with Meta. Rama is well acquainted with public and political communication and taking the focus of the opposition, adds calm, but even the spotlight is no longer on him and Rama knows that in the long run, this is not good.
He provoked a debate today with Mr. Meta, leading him to an alliance with Berisha, so he did the same thing as Basha. Basha thinks he earns points from this. Theoretically it could be true. But on the other hand we can say that Basha is a student of Berisha, he was an ally with Meta but Basha broke up with Meta. We also have a data from which the whole Albanian political crisis has started that Berisha and Meta have been together in a clash with the USA for Justice Reform.
