Journalist Arbana Xharra, in an interview for “Top Talk”, criticizes the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama for his stance on Kosovo in Serbia.
Recalling Rama’s conference a few years ago in the Serbian capital, where he said out loud that “Kosovo is independent”, Xharr asks why the prime minister is not doing the same now.
According to the journalist from Kosovo, this is the right moment, when Rama, taking advantage of the closeness he has with his Serbian counterpart, can ask them to recognize Kosovo as an independent state.
“Meanwhile, in an interview given to the newspaper ‘Politiko’ given a few days ago, it was not mentioned that Serbia, at the time when the ‘Open Balkans’ project is being postponed, should recognize Kosovo. “Why is this moment not being sought to be used, since Rama was close to Vuçiç and seeks the recognition of Kosovo’s independence.”
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, emphasizes that the country will not be part of the “Open Balkan” initiative, as long as Serbia does not recognize itself as an independent state. On the other hand, senior European officials have demanded that the dialogue between the two countries continue, with the aim of mutual recognition.
At a time when senior EU officials are asking Serbia to do such a thing, why does Rama not ask for it, Xharra asks.
