The farmers of Korça are ready to donate the unsold apples that are rotting day by day to Ukraine.
Despite rising commodity prices, most Korça farmers, potato, onion and apple growers continue to sell cheaply. In many cases they trade at negligible prices due to lack of market or as it always happens they throw away their products.
In the village of Zvirina, one of the main producers of these apple crops has remained in warehouses and the producers sell it for 3 lek but no one buys it.
Onion producers this year have been able to sell more and at a reasonable price for them but the concern remains the increase in the price of oil and chemical fertilizers
Last year’s production by these farmers still remains at the same prices different from what happens with imported products that have increased in weight but if next year farmers will produce more expensive and consumers will buy more expensive.
