The Institute for War Studies (ISW), which produces daily reports on the Russian occupation of Ukraine, has announced that Moscow forces have withdrawn from the city in northeastern Ukraine.
The statement said the Russian military is likely to withdraw from the region as Vladimir Putin concentrates his efforts further south.
“The Russian army is likely to withdraw completely from its positions around the city of Kharkiv in the face of Ukrainian counter-offensives and the limited availability of reinforcements. Russian units have generally not tried to hold ground against Ukrainian counterattack forces over the past few days, with a few exceptions. “A Ukrainian offensive east of the border could not take place due to the difficulty of military operations between large water areas.” says yesterday’s ISW Report.
