For two years, Shaip Kamberi was one of the few Albanian deputies in the Serbian Parliament.
During this time, he raised for discussion problematic issues faced by Albanians in the Presevo Valley but which he says faced constant discrimination.
Shaip Kamberi: A policy of albanophobia which has been expressed very often by the ministers themselves, especially by the current Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandar Vulin, who is also the author of the political project of the Serbian forces, a lack of will to listen to our problems.
However, Kamberi is again running for a seat in the Serbian parliament. He says he will push forward important issues for the Albanians of Presevo, Medvedja and Bojanoc.
Shaip Kamberi: Recognition of diplomas, integration in state bodies, economic development, democratization of society, removal of political influence over the judiciary, are the topics we faced in the previous legislation but which remain priorities.
His goal remains the cooperation with the Government of Kosovo, especially for inclusion in the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
Shaip Kamberi: It would regulate not only the relations between Kosovo and Serbia as two states, but also the equal treatment of the communities living in these two states.
Shaip Kamberi, in the parliamentary elections in Serbia held on April 3, is running as part of the Coalition of Albanians of the Valley, along with 9 other candidates, Albanians and members of other minorities in Serbia.
