In a press conference, Josep Borell, Vice President of the European Commission said that Albania has made progress in implementing the Reforms, while giving a message to all political parties in our country.
Borrell said that the lists of candidates for MP should include people with high integrity, and stressed that all political parties should prioritize EU integration.
Excerpts from a speech by Joseph Borrell:
I am very pleased to have had the opportunity to welcome Prime Minister Rama to this meeting. Before going into details let me emphasize, Albania is a key partner for the EU, it is a reliable partner and an example for the region. Albania is 100% in full compliance with the decisions.
You are an example in the Balkans and we cannot say the same for all other countries.
We will continue to follow you on your journey to the EU, for the aftermath of the earthquake, the recovery.
We commended Albania for its insistence on moving forward with reform, in particular the rule of law. We encourage Albania to continue with these reforms, because they are for the good of Albania.
In the elections of April 25, we emphasize that the names of the candidates should be with integrity, it is one of the key aspects, we have a message for all political parties, EU integration should be a goal of all, extreme polarization is not well and it is not in the interest of the Albanians, but we expect to organize the first intergovernmental conference after the negotiating framework.
