The end-of-year holidays have brought an increase of COVID infections in our country, while currently there are 9,286 active cases.
Out of 7,812 tests, 707 citizens were positive in Tirana, 118 in Elbasan, 101 in Durrës, 73 in Fier, 69 in Shkodra, 63 in Vlora, 48 in Saranda, 34 in Lezha, Lushnje, Gjirokastra, 23 in Kruja, 22 in Kamza , 20 Pogradec, 17 in Kavaja, 18 in Korça, 15 in Devoll, 14 in Tepelena, 13 in Kurbin, Mallakastër, 12 in Mat, Patos, Divjakë, 10 in Himara, Përmet, Kolonjë, Berat, Cërrik, 8 in Shijak, 7 in Puka, Tropoja, Dimal, Kuçovë, Peqin, Librazhd, Prrenjas, 6 in Dibër, Konispol, Skrapar, Gramsh, 5 in Vau i Dejës, Vora, Selenica, 4 in Memaliaj, 3 in Malësi e Madhe, Has, Këlcyrë, Poliçan, Belsh, 2 in Kukës, Delvinë, Dropull, 1 in Fushë-Arrëz, Mirditë, Bulqizë, Klos, Maliq.
Currently 106 patients are being treated in COVID hospitals, of which 12 are in more serious condition.
Despite the efforts of doctors, in the last 24 hours there have been 5 loss of life, three citizens from Tirana 59-87 years old, one citizen from Konispoli 66 years old and one citizen from Peqin 80 years old.
309 citizens have been cured in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of cured to 202,386 since the beginning of the epidemic.
Any citizen over 16 years of age can be vaccinated at the health center or at the nearest centralized vaccination point. AntiCOVID vaccines reduce the chance of infection and greatly avoid hospitalizations and fatalities.
Vaccination is also open for children +12 years old with immune system problems, with a doctor’s recommendation.
The ministry advises citizens to avoid gatherings and ventilate their premises to limit the spread of Covid-19. We remind the citizens that putting on a mask is mandatory in any closed environment.
2,434,722 vaccinations have been performed in our country so far.
Since January 4, it has become mandatory in the country to present the vaccination certificate for employees in the administration, markets and shopping centers.
