Immediately after the agreement that Sali Shehu signed with Lulzim Basha to cooperate for the April 25 elections without first obtaining the approval of the party structures, the resignation of Bamir Topi was followed by the dissolution of the structures that have opposed this new coalition.
The biggest blow to Sali Shehu came from the FRD branch in Tirana, which was the main structure of this force. Starting from the President of this branch, Andi Seferi, to the simple membership, they have signed irrevocable resignations, finally leaving the FRD.
From the results of FRD in the last elections, it is exactly the branch of Tirana which has given the votes to this political force, while in Debar where Sali Shehu is expected to run could not get any result. With the merger of the FRD branches, Lulzim Basha’s only coalition is only with Sali Shehu.
