After Spaho left the party, Ervin Salianji was elected political leader of Korça

The news was confirmed by the Secretary General, Gazment Bardhi. He said that the chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Basha has appointed the deputy, Ervin Salianji, as Political Leader of the Korça region.

The announcement states that Salianji will also be the Chairman of the Regional Coordination Council, which is the permanent structure with responsibilities in the electoral organization and actions and political activities of the DPA at the regional level.

We recall that the Democratic Party took punitive measures against 28 members of the PD Re-establishment Commission, a structure set up by the Assembly convened on December 11 by former Prime Minister Berisha, to lead the party until the new elections, but which did not is recognized by the chairman Lulzim Basha and the institutions of this party.

In addition to Mr. Berisha, the immediate expulsion from the DP affected 8 other names, including former President Bujar Nishani or three MPs Flamur Noka, Edmond Spaho and Albana Vokshi.

Also, after the start of the first plenary session for 2022 of the Albanian Parliament (January 17) there was a statement by MP Edmond Spaho, who loudly accused the chairman of this political force, Lulzim Basha, regarding the decision of the latter for exclusion from the Democratic parliamentary group.

He stressed that Basha has done everything just to keep his chair.

“Democrats have no future with this, with a man who has lost four pairs of elections and is sold as the future of Democrats. The day will come, do not remember that he has it far away. Citizens will give what this man deserves”.

In fact, the decision does not seem to be a surprise, given the fact that on the evening of January 8, Mr. Basha stated that what had happened had marked “the final split with former Prime Minister Berisha and his supporters.”
