Six people have been arrested by the Elbasan police on charges of falsifying the elections of April 25, 2021.
It is about the counting groups of CEAZ 53, which coincides with the Municipality of Prrenjas where the arrested persons are suspected to have favored certain candidates.
Specifically, the candidate of that time, today the deputy of the Democratic Party, Lefter Gështenja appears with 116 votes more than the ballot box had, while Ardian Zeneli, again the candidate of the Democratic Party with 100 votes less.
The violation was noticed by the CEC, which in November 2021 re-evaluated 10 percent of the ballot boxes, nationally, which showed that in terms of preferential votes, Lefter Gështenja held the record for irregularities.
After that, the CEC filed criminal charges against the counting teams where the biggest irregularities were registered.
It is learned that the enumerators have stated that the irregularities are a consequence of human error due to fatigue, but it will be the court which has the last word after the investigations made by the Elbasan prosecutor’s office.
The following have been handcuffed:
Erald Karriqi, 35 years old, resident in Prrenjas;
Ylli Kuko, 35 years old, resident in the village of Karkavec, Prrenjas;
Durim Alla, 49 years old, resident in Prrenjas;
Erjon Dashi, 31 years old, resident in the village of Berzeshta, Prrenjas;
Mili Vasku, 33 years old, resident in the village of Rrajcë Fushë, Prrenjas;
Olgert Aalla 40 years old, resident in Prrenjas.
