An explosion and collapse took place in a mine near the town of Sokobanja in Serbia. As a result, eight miners are reported to have died and about 20 others injured.
The director of the Aleksinac Health Center, Rodoljub Zivadinovic, told RTS that the accident was great. Meanwhile, the fate of some other miners remains unclear, who have remained trapped.
In total, there were 49 miners on duty. The director of the General Hospital in Aleksinac said that 18 miners have received treatment but all of them are out of danger for life.
“The situation here is difficult, there are also relatives, people are upset. Unfortunately, this is not the first case. “Aleksinac and its surroundings are known for this, it has happened other times”, says the director of the hospital.
