As every day, 5 friends aged 12-13 were playing with each other in front of the “28 Nõntori” school in the center of the city of Shkodra, but on Monday, a 49-year-old man was stopped from having fun.
Citizen Agron Mahmuti (Mehmeti) approached them and started arguing with the children. Then, he pulled out a pistol, first hitting a 13-year-old with the initials AB in the head with the butt of the gun.
After the children noticed the pistol, they left quickly, while the perpetrator then shot without a target, where the bullet ended up in a nearby bar, causing only material damage.
The 49-year-old man, who is suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol, repeatedly put the pistol in his belt, and then left on a bicycle, through the main streets of the city. Afterwards, he handed himself over to the police, as he stated that he went to the children to clarify after one of them had molested his son.
Earlier, the Shkodra police also arrested a pedophile. The 65-year-old, V. Haxhija, was arrested in the act for committing the criminal offense “Sexual Harassment”.
The citizen in question, during the last months, has continuously committed sexual harassment against several minor girls. After receiving the information, the blue uniforms start investigating him. On the 65-year-old’s phone, evidence, communications and film material were found where he molested minor children. After the arrest, Haxhija has admitted authorship of the found materials and harassment of minors.
