On Monday evening, the former police officer together with his friend Elton Hidhi, previously convicted of theft, were handcuffed after they were caught moving around the capital with an arsenal of weapons.
On the operational road, the police received information that armed persons were circulating in a vehicle in the Sauk area at the Sanatorium roundabout.
The forces of Commissariar No. 1 and those of Schiponja exercised control in the vehicle of Renea’s ex-officer, where they discovered a sniper firearm, foreign license plates, an identification tool and those of the Police and a control panel for opening and closing the license plates of the vehicle.
Following the search, a firearm, a pistol, two pairs of binoculars and military ammunition were found in the apartments of the arrested persons, which were seized as material evidence, together with the vehicle.
The seized materials together with the mobile devices of the arrested were sent to the scientific laboratory to be analyzed. The former officer and his friend have not spoken in front of the blue uniforms about why they had firearms and other equipment.
The police have doubts that the former officer may be involved in criminal groups, committing criminal offenses for pay.
Dismantling his cell phone but also analyzing all the evidence can give the green light to deepening the investigation and the discovery of other persons involved in this illegal activity.
