The court announced that the accused KD was convicted of the criminal offense of “Organizing and participating in a terrorist group.”
This institution did not provide details on which group the accused joined or for the period of time when he committed this criminal offense, reports REL.
He will serve the sentence 15 days after this verdict becomes final, “while the time spent in detention on remand from July 17, 2021 onwards, will be counted in the sentence imposed”.

In 2015, Kosovo adopted a special law sanctioning participation in foreign wars, which provides for sentences of up to 15 years in prison.
Kosovo, with the help of the United States, in April 2019 has returned over 100 of its citizens, mostly women and children, who had been to the conflict zones in Syria.
