Following the adoption of the resolution, the National Council of the Democratic Party has launched a secret ballot to dismiss the names that were proposed the day before by the leadership of the Democratic Party.
Meanwhile, the general secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi has stated that today no decision will be made to expel the members proposed for expulsion, but they will simply be dismissed from their functions.
Bardhi says that some members of the presidency did not respect the decision of the party leadership to convene on the 18th of the National Assembly.
Gazment Bardhi: Today no decision is made for dismissal, but for dismissal from office. Some members of the presidency did not respect the decision of the party leadership to convene on the 18th of the National Assembly. On the contrary, they are committed to setting up parallel structures to replace the legitimate statutory institutions of the DP. For them, there is no party chairman, no general secretary, no vice-chairmen, no chairman, no National Council, in addition to this body that behaves like an illegal cell that seeks to overlap with the legitimate institutions of the party. For this reason, they can do whatever they want outside the party institutions, but they can not act as members of the central DP leadership. This is the proposal to the National Council. We are not taking disciplinary measures against anyone, even though the electoral interest of the Democratic Party with such actions, gave us the right to disciplinary measures under Article 27. In order not to inflame dissension, not to exclude anyone, we propose dismissal from office:
Meanwhile, the question addressed to the members of the National Council on the ballot paper has been clarified, which reads: Do you agree with the proposal of the presidency for the dismissal of the Chairman of the National Council, Edi Paloka
Members of the Presidency:
Flamur Noka
Aldo Bumçi
Gent Strazimiri
Albana Vokshi
Oerd Bylybashi
As well as secretaries:
Ervin Minarolli
Ivi Kaso
Belind Kelliçi
Ledina Mandia ”.
A day after Sali Berisha convened the Assembly, the National Council considered Berisha’s move as anti-statutory and was an attempt to delegitimize the Democratic Party institutions until its dissolution as the most pro-Western force in the country.
Today, the National Council of the Democratic Party has unanimously approved the resolution, which was proposed the day before by the chairman of the Democratic Party and condemns the move and actions taken by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
In this resolution, the Assembly of December 11 and all the decisions taken by it are considered null and void, while the resolution affirms that the National Assembly of December 18 is the only legitimate and comprehensive Assembly of Democrats.
It is also noted that the rally forged and used the symbols and logos of the Democratic Party in flagrant violation of statutory and legal norms.
