British-Albanian singer Dua Lipa, US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Ben & Jerry’s director Anuradha Mittal were among the finalists for the ironic “Anti-Semitic Women of the Year” award from the Jewish group StopAntisemitism.org.
Lipa had previously been criticized by the group for its support of Palestine, as well as for distributing on its accounts the post of director Vin Arfuso stating that “the Israeli army enjoys beating and firing on children. ”
The Albanian singer is one of the biggest female influencers with 76 million followers on the Instagram network, but the Jewish lobby wrote that she “uses her fame to speak ill of Israel and to promote anti-Semitism”.
As for the three finalists in general, the organization wrote that they spread “conspiracy theories” and hatred, so they were chosen by “online user votes”.
The group wrote about Republican Republican Greene from Georgia, that “she lost a lot of jobs in Congress after her ‘anti-Semitic conspiracy theories’ came to light.”
Mittal, the head of the Ben & Jerry ice cream company since 2008, was accused by the Jewish lobby of donating to its pro-Palestinian non-profit organization.
The group said it would “crown the Anti-Semitic Woman of the Year” on December 27, with an online vote.
Previous holders of the award have been Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar from Minnesota in 2019 and lawyer Nerdeen Kiswani in 2020.
