Former candidate for chairman of the Democratic Party, Ibsen Elezi has expressed criticism of the National Assembly convened by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, held at the stadium “Air Albania”.
In his speech, Elezi focused on the establishment of the DP Re-establishment Commission and the list of 29 names in its composition that will take over the leadership of the party. He stated from the rostrum of the National Assembly, that the selection of these names had to be done through a voting process.
Despite the criticism, Elezi expresses the conviction that today’s Assembly is expected to bring changes in the party.
“I do not want to lose the good taste of this Assembly, as an Assembly that has the potential to make a big difference. But an Assembly that starts its own work through the appointments that were made today. 30 people were formally proposed, without any competition or procedure. Where did the names come from and how did they come about. It is important that when taking political initiatives like the Assembly, names are very important. Inside the list of 29 names you will find Sorosians and anti-Sorosians. 5 or 6 I know. Finds state security spies. Finds and honest men. Where does this conglomerate come from, where are the election filters and who took responsibility for this election.
They are filters of the moral image of the leader who is elected at the head of the DP. If we have taken on the great responsibility of developing a process different from what it was today, these are important things to consider. Lulzim Basha was to blame? Definitely, but Basha did not do all these violations and vices that have been mentioned alone, but he did most of them with you. You supported it. Many who spoke here have been Basha’s biggest supporters in 2013. The June 13 election affected the fictitious turnout“, Said Elezi.
