At least 53 people have lost their lives and dozens more have been injured after the truck they were traveling in was involved in an accident. The gruesome event happened in southern Mexico.
More than 100 people, immigrants from Central America were inside the trailer truck which rolled in the state of Chiapas in Mexico.
Photos of the crash site show the victims lying along the road next to the overturned truck. “It’s one of the worst accidents in Mexico,” authorities said. It is learned that among the victims are men, women and children. The nationalities of the victims have not yet been confirmed but according to local authorities most of the migrants were from Honduras and Guantemala.
Chiapas which borders Guatemala is the main transit point for illegal and undocumented migrants.
