The LSI National Convention approved this month the changes to the Statute.
After the submission of the resignation of the Chair of the LSI, Monika Kryemadhi, as well as in the conditions where all other management structures have completed their mandate, the creation of the Organizing Committee is requested, with the following tasks:
The Organizing Committee, charged by the National Convention, for the direction of the party and its representation at all levels.
The Organizing Committee will lead the party’s activities for the preparation of the National Convention, which will be held within two months. The head of the Organizing Committee is Ilir Meta and the deputy chairman is Agim Nesho.
Monika Kryemadhi came to the head of the Socialist Movement for Integration in June 2017, after the resignation of Petri Vasili, due to the losing result in the parliamentary elections of June 25.
Meanwhile, its founder Ilir Meta returned to LSI. He received his membership card less than 24 hours after handing over the office of head of state. In the speech he delivered today at the Convention, the former president also announced the new name of the party.
LSI will be called the Freedom Party from today. Former president Ilir Meta gave the news today at the National Convention.
“I invite YOU from the LSI party to the party of freedom, to the party of sovereignty, to the party of the referendum. We will be measured very soon, the party of the patron Nazis and Dushan Mugosha, the party of freedom and all Albanians. Long live free and democratic Albania. Long live Kosovo, an independent state, glory to our nation”, said Meta.
