The Court of Tirana accepted the request of the Prosecution to ask Microsoft for help on the computer data from which it is hoped that the traces of the hackers who attacked e-Albania, causing the system to fall for four days, will be found.
Some documents published in the last few hours add to the suspicions that cyber attackers have managed to break the security of ANA, but at this point no one is officially talking about the extent of the damage of this attack.
Albania does not have the proper capacities to investigate and detect a cyber attack like the last one that caused significant damage to online services. This is because on the fifth day of the investigations opened by the prosecutor’s office of Tirana and after claims from the sector about cyber investigations, until now the scientific police has been avoided and has not been engaged, which according to the law performs the necessary expertise. As they inform, foreign services and secret agencies continue to be engaged in this investigation.
A few days ago, the prosecutor’s office admitted that it seized four accounts through foreigners, adding that the cyber attack was carried out by an unfriendly country with the aim of destabilization.
Top Channel inquired with SPAK and Tirana’s prosecutor’s office to understand whether or not there will be a merger of investigative files where, on the one hand, an Iranian citizen has been arrested, and an association has been seized and several apartments and vehicles have been searched. On the other hand, the prosecutor’s office of Tirana has started investigations for four criminal offenses, but the investigations are still far away, as are the investigations that are declared highly secret.
The offenses for which the investigations are being carried out are that of illegal interception and misuse of cyber equipment and systems. But so far everyone is talking to strangers, although online services for documents are important for every citizen.
