Begaj will be sworn in at a special parliamentary session that will take place tomorrow, July 24 at 18:00 in the Assembly, but not all political parties will participate in the session.
“Top Channel” has contacted the Democratic Party led by Sali Berisha, who confirmed that they will boycott the plenary session of the swearing in of President Bajram Begaj, giving no reason for their absence.
“Top Channel” also contacted the camp that supports Enkelejd Alibeaj, who have changed their position and, unlike what they did on the day of the election of the new President, confirmed that they have decided to be present at the session and the reception that will take place in the Presidency .
Bajram Begaj, proposed by the Socialist Party, was elected President in the parliamentary session of June 4, 2022, with 78 votes in favor, 4 against and 1 abstention. Begaj, the former chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, will be the 8th president of the country after the declaration of pluralism.
