After days the heat is still showing no signs of relief and many countries in Europe have turned on the red alarm siren for the danger of the situation, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, Denmark continue to be under the pressure of the heat wave which has brought massive fires, claimed hundreds of lives.
Experts blame climate change for the latest heat wave and note that more frequent extreme weather will only get worse in the coming years.
Even the US and China are not in a more favorable position. The Washington Post reports that the heat has put almost 100 million people in the US on alert, while authorities call for people to avoid unnecessary exits and stay hydrated and in cooler places.
Meanwhile, China will suffer the return of more heatwaves over the next 10 days from east to west, with some coastal cities already on their highest alert level and inland regions warning of the risk of dams breaking for due to the melting of the glaciers.
A sharp rise in temperature is expected on Saturday, before turning into a heat wave. This Saturday is the “great heat” day in the Chinese Almanac based on the lunar calendar.
The heat in China this summer has been described as extreme.
