A man from Oklahoma in the US killed his friend over the weekend after he believed that the victim had “called” the monster American gorilla Bigfoot to kill him while they were fishing, was the public explanation of Oklahoma investigators on the case.
Meanwhile, 53-year-old Larry Doil Sanders was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
The accused had gone fishing at the headwaters of the South Canadian River with his friend, Jimmy Knighten.
But a confrontation ensued between the two, and Sanders told authorities he hit Knighten in the head and choked him. The victim’s body was found a day later in the river, the Oklahoma state coroner’s office said.
The special agent assigned to the case said Sanders told him he discovered that Knighten “intended to use him as food for the mythological gorilla Bigfoot,” according to a document published by The Oklahoman.
“LARRY said he believed JIMMY was trying to get away from him so the Bigfoot gorilla would eat LARRY,” the agent wrote in the report.
The strange report continued: “LARRY wouldn’t let JIMMY go. LARRY hit JIMMY with his finger, and then with his stick. LARRY and JIMMY fought for a long time on the field.”
Sanders remains in the Pontotac jail as the investigation continues.
