The Regional Directorate of AMP Tirana has implemented the order of the Prosecutor’s Office for the execution of the decision of the Tirana Judicial District Court, which has set the measure of personal security with a preventive character “Suspension of the exercise of a duty or public service” for the commission of the criminal offense “Employment duty” to 5 police officers at the Tirana Regional Traffic Police Station:
– Inspector Albi Meta, 33 years old, with the duty of service corps at the Tirana Regional Traffic Commissioner’s Office;
– Inspector EM, 31 years old, with the duty of service corps at the Tirana Regional Traffic Commissioner’s Office;
– Inspector IK, 40 years old, with the duty of service corps at the Tirana Regional Traffic Commissioner’s Office;
– Inspector G. SH., 26 years old, with the duty of service corps at the Tirana Regional Traffic Commissioner’s Office;
– Inspector JM, 27 years old, with the duty of service corps at the Tirana Regional Traffic Commissioner’s Office.
Following the investigations for criminal proceedings no. 5333/2021, after the arrest in flagrante delicto of 2 traffic police officers on 03.03.2022 and the analysis of the data/photos taken by the seized radar, evidence and facts were administered that the above police officers, at times and places of various, during the exercise of their functional duty as a verification agent at the Tirana Road Traffic Commissionerate, have abused their duty by punishing with administrative measures in an arbitrary manner, as well as by falsifying the data recorded by the radar in violation of the law, resulting in significant economic damage and violation of the legitimate interests of the state.
In cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance in Tirana, investigations continue for the involvement of other employees and their legal responsibility.
