Two-time US Olympic basketball gold medalist Brittney Griner has been found guilty of drug charges in a Russian court near Moscow.
Her lawyers told CNN that the 31-year-old could face up to 10 years in prison.
She left the courtroom without commenting to reporters and the next hearing is scheduled for July 14.
Griner was arrested in February at a Moscow airport after Russian officials said they found cannabis oil in her luggage.
The basketball player has been detained for drug smuggling charges, while the court hearings started last week.
The US State Department has classified Griner as wrongly arrested, and her supporters have called for her release amid fears she is being used as a political hostage amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
