Greece is on high alert this year after the country was ravaged by fires on several fronts last year for weeks, burning homes and hundreds of thousands of hectares of forest, following the worst heat wave in decades.
The country also has bitter memories of the 2018 fire that engulfed the north-eastern coastal town of Mati near Athens, leaving 102 dead.
