The family of a Russian railway director is believed to have been massacred by one of their servants who raped and stabbed his mother to death, and strangled her son to death.
Sergey Malakhov, 44, director of the Trans-Siberian railway network from Moscow to Vladivostok, was on a business trip when four of his relatives were killed near Nizhny Novgorod, reports say.
His wife Elena, 41, a well-known florist, was raped and stabbed to death in the horrific incident, while the couple’s six-year-old son, Mikhail, was strangled to death.
The mother of the railway director Olga Malakhova, 66, and his father-in-law Anatoly Korolyov, 63, were also killed in the same manner, local media reported.
The couple’s other son and daughter Maria, 13, had escaped the February 28 massacre in the village of Kudma.
The family home is believed to have been looted.
The shocking scenes were discovered by a neighbor who had been sent there by Malakhov after his daughter failed to make contact with people.
Russian media have published photos of suspect Sharofiddin Amirov, 26, who was arrested in the Vladimir region and two of his associates who had fled in a Volkswagen Passat according to reports.
The suspect had helped build the family home and was later hired as a servant and gardener, police sources said.
Other reports said Amirov had had a dispute over payments with the family.
Also in the suspects’ car were 29-year-old Armen Atabekyan and 52-year-old Mikhail Avanesov, who are believed to have helped hide Amirov.
The victim mother Elena was described by the media as a well-known florist in the town and an amateur in equestrian sports.
