Several American Delta Air Lines passengers were surprised Monday morning when they were offered $ 10,000 to vacate their seats.
The domestic flight from Grand Rapids to Michigan to Minneapolis, Minnesota had just begun to be refilled – Delta staff announced that the flight had sold more tickets than the plane was carrying.
They therefore required eight passengers to fly to Minneapolis, with a subsequent flight, for which they offered $ 10,000 compensation.
The media failed to verify how much was paid to passengers but it is not uncommon for large sums to be offered to passengers when they fail to get the plane they paid for.
Even in 2017 a British family of three in the US was offered $ 11,000 to give up their tickets on a Delta flight from New York to Florida.
In another incident, the passenger was forcibly removed from the United Airlines plane after the agreement for the release of the country was not reached.
Airlines in the US offer compensation to passengers in such cases of inconvenience but if passengers refuse they have the right to refuse the flight.
