The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuçi., Said that there is currently no dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
He made the comments after meeting in Belgrade with the European Union Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.
Vucic said he had agreed with him that only he should address the media.
“I informed him [Lajçakun] what I want to talk about and what I want to tell the truth about everything that is happening… and what the intentions of the Western powers are. “His word is important and I do not want to put him in an uncomfortable situation,” Vucic said.
“We have a complete change of the situation in the Western Balkans and in Serbia, especially in Kosovo,” said Vucic, reacting to the decision of the Government of Kosovo on the possibility of re-registration of vehicles with license plates issued by the Serbian authorities with license plates RKS (Republic of Kosovo).
He said that Kosovo and the West “want to persuade Serbs to register with RKS license plates”.
“If they do not convince them, then they will take their cars,” Vucic said.
On Wednesday, the Government of Kosovo approved the instruction for crossing the border points with personal documents, issued by the Serbian authorities.
According to the instruction, all persons who have personal documents issued by the Serbian authorities, upon entering the territory of Kosovo, will receive a certificate that replaces those documents.
Otherwise, all citizens of Kosovo entering the territory of Serbia, receive a certificate that replaces their personal documents.
Vucic said that Serbia’s response to the decisions of the Government of Kosovo will be prudent.
“We will not take military action, but we ask that they not take people’s property and evict them,” he said.
Vucic also said that Serbia is ready for dialogue, but, according to him, the Kosovar side is not.
“The other side does not want a compromise solution, but just wants us to agree with what it decides,” Vucic said, adding that Kosovo has the support of the West for its actions.
Prior to his visit to Belgrade, Lajcak had been in Kosovo since June 27, where he said he was working on a meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
So far, Kurti and Vucic have met only twice, but without making any concrete progress in the dialogue for the normalization of relations.
This process started in 2011, with the mediation of the European Union and the support of the United States.
