The high demands for enrolling children in public kindergartens and nurseries in the capital, has brought the need for increased capacity, so from September 7 new buildings will be ready.
“Tirana city has 39 nurseries, 46 kindergartens and 50 kindergartens in the suburbs. In one day, a maximum of 3500 children receive services in kindergartens and 8000 children currently in the kindergartens of Tirana. New buildings will be added and another 500-700 children will be given the opportunity to enroll“, Says Zhaneta Beqiri, director of kindergartens and nurseries.
Buildings are in those areas where the need for child registration has been growing while nurseries and kindergartens have been lacking.
“Of these 7 new buildings 6 are gardens and an integrated nursery and garden building. The buildings are on the outskirts of unit 2, in unit 4, in unit 7, unit 9 and unit 11. We are in the gardens at the moment of collecting applications. In the first phase there will be children who will not be part of the service in kindergartens, but with the opening of new buildings everyone will get this THE SERVICE“, Adds Beqiri.
Groups in kindergartens should be up to 30 children, but there are cases when this number is exceeded.
“We have several kindergartens where for a country there is a significant ratio of requirements in relation to the countries we have. Kindergartens are set up with 25-30 children and have two educators and a support staff. We were forced that due to high demand in some kindergartens to have a higher number than the number 30“, Says Beqiri.
The registration for children in the public kindergartens of the capital has a deadline until June 24 and lasts from 9 am to 2 pm.
