Became part of the Albanian Intelligence, the young woman tells the experience in SHISH: My fear was great, there you learn to know people

The agent has shown that part of SHISH are also many other girls, who have already climbed the career ladder and today have managed to be in leadership positions.

The young woman explained that she initially worked in the private sector and later was selected by starting the training first. She says that after seeing that there were many degrees and girls employed in SHISH, she took her oath and started working.

“The journey to become part of the State Intelligence Service has been one of the most exciting journeys of my life. It all started when I read the announcement that new job applications had been opened at this institution. This was the opportunity I had been waiting for a long time!

At that time, I was working in the private sector, but I was not happy with myself. I had always dreamed of being part of an institution where the impact of my work would be felt not only within it, but on a broader scale, nationally. My family also supported me in this election. The recruitment process took several months. There were many other interviews and verifications, until, finally, I was informed that I had been selected to be one of the persons who would attend a few months of professional training. The training was intensive and challenging. The selected trainees had different professional backgrounds and this diversity helped each of us to learn more, sharing experiences and getting acquainted with new perspectives. The training instructors were highly trained, with extensive experience at SHISH. At the end of the dynamic months of training, where theoretical examples with practical exercises were combined every day, we underwent an exam where the knowledge gained during the course was tested.

This tedious but very beautiful journey was finalized with the organization of the Graduation and Oath Ceremony, where we all celebrated together the launch of a new stage in our lives. “I solemnly swear that I will serve with dedication and honesty the Republic of Albania for the strengthening of national security, I will act in accordance with the Constitution and laws, I will perform responsibly and professionally the tasks that will be assigned to me, I will keep the secret and I will be loyal to the State Intelligence Service in fulfilling its mission. I SWEAR! ” With these words, the official ceremony closed and we were already ready to give our contribution to the homeland! Before I formally started working as an employee of the State Intelligence Service, my biggest fear was that maybe this was not a suitable job for girls. In a society with a patriarchal history like that of our country, I thought it would be very difficult for a young girl to work in the operating sector and make a positive impact in this country. But, as soon as I started working, I noticed that, part of SHISH are many women and girls, some of whom have climbed the career ladder and today are in leadership positions, which for me is very motivating.

The new colleagues were hospitable and ready to guide and help me at any time. Even the mentor accompanied me at every step, explaining to me in detail and patience everything about the job. At no point did I feel discriminated against or inferior to my male colleagues, because here, everyone gets what they deserve, regardless of gender. These elements have simplified my work and encouraged me to give my best. The operating sector has its difficulties, but grows a lot as an individual, professionally and personally. By encountering different people every day, you develop many skills and, above all, learn to know people not only on the basis of what they display, but also on the basis of what they hide. Moreover, there is no greater pleasure than closing a working day knowing that you have made a positive impact and contributed to the realization of the main mission: Guaranteeing and maintaining national security! ”
