The weapons workshop found by police in Koder-Mëzez is suspected to have been run by an internationally wanted man for murder.
The wanted man, together with his two already arrested accomplices, Dorian Kalo and Elvis Bakalli, centered the weapons and equipped them with silencers and then sold them to the criminal groups with whom they had contact.
Specialist in the regulation and modification of weapons is suspected to be 45-year-old Dorian Kalo, who is suspected of having previously performed this activity in his apartment. Following the arrest of Enver Jamaku in April 2021 following the failed assassination attempt on businessman John Mena, Dorian Kalo stopped his illegal activity.
Enver Jamaku told about the blue uniforms 19 weapons bases in Tirana and also gave information about Dorian Kalon who according to him had bases for the modification of weapons of different types. Police seized an entire arsenal of weapons but nothing was found in Kalos’s apartment and he had no problem with justice.
It is suspected that later he collaborated with Elvis Bakalli and built the workshop in the latter’s apartment where the police found parts of weapons, lathes, presses and many other tools with which firearms were processed. In a vehicle in the yard of this apartment, the police seized 8 pistols and 3 Kalashnikovs.
This Saturday, the two detainees appeared before the court, which left them in custody until the end of the investigation.
