The Ambassador of Germany, Peter Zingraf, the Ambassador of France in Albania, Mrs. Elisabeth Barsacq and the chairwoman of the Law Committee in the Albanian Parliament, Mrs. Klotilda Bushka, visited yesterday the authority for Information on Former State Security Documents, a few days before the official inauguration ceremony of the new premises of the institution.
The ambassadors were received by the members of the Authority, who introduced them to the work of the institution, current and future challenges, and the new spaces where the Authority operates.
During the visit, Gentiana Sula acquainted the diplomatic representatives with the work done since the establishment of the institution, the first decision for which was the designation of the building of the Authority. For years we worked on the reconstruction according to modern standards of protection and security, with the support of the Swedish Embassy in Albania.
The Ambassadors visited the archive of Security documents and were informed about the work processes, the manner of storage, the typology of files.
Discussions on the Authority’s intentions and future work continued in the meeting room.
. Paraq made a presentation of the work of the institution during the first term, in terms of informing citizens, scholars and the media on the documents of the former State Security, as well as the special structure for the missing under communism, approved by the Albanian Parliament .

The political will, the approach of institutions, organizations and society, the interaction between them, as well as the access of citizens, researchers and media to information, is important to be reflected in the goals of the new governing body, which has the responsibility to address the past. with professionalism, integrity and putting the citizen at the center.
For the Authority, the challenges of the second term are related to its return to a memory institution, which in addition to dismantling the printing machine, also brings the voice and attitude of the victim, creating the full historical framework of the dictatorship.
At the same time, a visitable center, with the possibility of reading and getting acquainted with the documentation, as well as an instrument that helps to unravel the past and investigate the fate of the missing victims.
