The former Director of the Electricity Distribution Operator in Mirdita, Leonardo (Altin) Nikolli has been handcuffed by the police, on charges of intentionally inflicting serious injuries.
The detention order was made at the request of the Lezha prosecutor’s office and with the approval of the court, as it turns out that he was involved in a conflict with a fellow villager in the area of Fani in Mirdita. The event took place in February of this year and from the investigative actions and the act of expertise, the prosecution body has managed to prove that Altin Nikolli hit his fellow villager with solid objects, leaving him seriously injured.
After the incident, the injured person was found with a firearm and a detention order was communicated to him in the hospital, but a few months later the prosecution managed to prove that the weapon did not belong to the injured person, and that the perpetrator turned out to be the former director of OSHEE in Mirdita, Leonardo (Altin) Nikolli.
According to sources, the incident occurred after a conflict for weak motives, after Nikolli had asked his fellow villager not to graze cattle in a wooded area near their village.
