Lawyers have preferred to stay in cafes awaiting a solution to the new court map.
They have boycotted court hearings, as they oppose the ‘merging’ of courts.
Across the country today lawyers blocked the work of the courts by launching a strike to oppose the new court map.
In Korça, where only one court remains, an escalation of the strike is announced.
In Lezha, the boycott has canceled 47 court hearings. Lawyers have warned that if there is no reaction, they will boycott the imposition of security measures.
The Elbasan Bar Association has also joined the national boycott of every court case in protest of the new map of the judiciary. The boycott will continue for four days and the canceled cases are estimated at around 500.
Vlora has also joined the boycott of court hearings, where in the following days a total of 349 hearings are expected to be blocked.
Another 35 lawyers from Lushnja protested today like their colleagues in the districts after the first instance court in Lushnja moved to that in Fier.
Also, 244 lawyers, members of the Durrës Chamber, have joined the national boycott of the courts as of today, while the government is expected to react to this proposal of the HJC to decide on further reaction steps.
