The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, has arrived in New York, where she will take part in the open debate of the Security Council on the topic “Keeping the promises: The role of Regional Organizations in the implementation of the Agenda Women, Peace and Security in the face of political unrest and the seizure of power by force ”.
The CC debate will take place on June 15, 2022, at 10:00 (New York local time). This is one of the significant activities of the Albanian presidency of the Security Council.
The event will be attended by representatives of various international and regional organizations, including the EU, OSCE (Secretary-General), the African Union and the Arab League.
Whereas, on June 16, 2022 at 10:00 (New York local time) Minister Xhaçka will chair the meeting of the SC on the topic: Cooperation between the UN and international and regional organizations, with a focus on the EU.
The guests are the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Vice-President of the EU Commission, Joseph Borrell. From the UN will be UN Under-Secretary-General Rosemary Dicarlo.
