Chancellor Angela Merkel’s CDU party clearly won the parliamentary elections in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, the last before the elections for the German Bundestag in September.

The alternative for Germany reached only 20.9% of the vote, a decrease compared to the result of the last elections, 24.3%.
